In the spring of 2006, in Kapandriti Attica, just half an hour from Athens, we created “Oenotria Land Costa Lazaridi”, a building complex of 10,500 sqr. m. with multiple functional capabilities.
The name, inspired by Oenotreas, the son of a Greek king, who founded a colony in southern Italy where he cultivated and produced wines with exceptional results, reflects the intent of Domaine Costa Lazaridi in this new venture away from the company headquarters in the northern Greek area of Drama.
In 2000, at the banks of Lake Marathon, 20 hectares of vineyards were created with red varieties, very near the Oenotria Land in Kapandriti. Before the eyes of the visitor of Oenotria Land unfolds the entire story of the wines and distills of the Costa Lazaridi company, the past and the present of winemaking, distillation and acetification.
At the Distills Museum, visitors make the journey starting from the time of the Alchemists who used glass flasks for the distillation of herbs, arriving to this day with the use of most modern winemaking equipment for the distillation of “tsipouro” (Hedonikon) and the eau de vie Methexis. At the Wine Museum, old objects, engravings and drawings, old tools and more modern equipment reveal the history of the grape products and “transfer” visitors to yesteryear.
The “Seminar and Tasting Hall” is an impressive area where seminars are held, as well as a tasting of the company’s products along with courses in food and wine harmony.
Experts share their valuable knowledge with visitors and take them to a unique journey exploring the senses and the palate.
A variety of company wines are on display at the Sales Room, where there is also a bar for visitors can taste the wines, spirits and aceto and make their purchases.
The Oenotria Land has the capacity to host any business or social event up to 2000 participants in superb meeting areas. Haute cuisine is an inextricable part and primary element of the whole scene. State-of-the-art installations for the preparation of food and a special team put together by Costras Lazaridis himself ensure high quality of products and services provided to visitors.
